Only in her dreams

Their meetings became more frequent after that tragic day. He only comes to her at night… in her dreams. It's where she can tell him everything she wanted and needed him to know.

~ And if I shed a tear I wont cage it
I wont fear love
And if I feel a rage I wont deny it
I wont fear love ~

It was here that he gave her all she needed… comfort, love, and to know some one will be there for her, even if it was only in her dreams.

With chair, candles and clothes making darkness into day…~

Alex grabbed Isabel pulling her close to him, he ran his fingers threw her hair. Their lips met in a gentle passionate kiss. The kind of kiss that showed what their love could have been, what it should have been. Alex pulled her in tighter and deepens the kiss. Isabel started to feel a fire building inside that she couldn't explain. He trailed kiss down the side of her neck, then he whispered in her ear "I'm coming home"

"Alex!" Isabel woke in a start. She ran her fingers across her swollen lips. She thought to herself that this couldn't be real. Yet she could still feel every kiss as if he had branded her for life. Isabel glanced over at her alarm clock and decided to give up on sleeping.

"Liz, you have company."

"Ok mom I will be right there," Liz hurried into the living room thinking it might be Max. "Oh, hi Isabel, what are you doing here?"

"Liz we need to talk now," Isabel said nervously.

"Ok lets go to my room," Liz turned to her mom, "Hey mom will you let Max know if he calls that I will meet him later." Liz led Isabel to her room and shut the door. "Isabel is everything ok?" Liz asked as she sat down on her bed.

"Liz, I don't know anymore." Isabel sat down beside her, "This has to stay strictly between you and me. I don't want to tell Max until I find out what's going on," Isabel waited for Liz's nod of agreement before she continued. "Ever since Alex's death I have been dreaming about him. He is mostly there to comfort me."

Liz put her arm around Isabel to comfort her and said, "Isabel, I understand, that's normal."

"No Liz you don't, the dreams sort of changed. I can feel him, his hand and his kisses. They feel so real, and last night, he told me he was coming home."

"Isabel what did he mean by he is coming home?"

"I don't know, I woke up before I found out. Liz," Isabel stood up and put her hands on her head, "I think I am losing my mind."

"What do you want to do?"

"Can I spend the night tonight?"

"Sure… but Maria will be here, and she will KILL me if I cancel on her again. She seems to think that we need to have a female bonding night. She says that with everything that has happened in the last few months, we need to bond."

"Sure why not," Isabel hesitated, "what time do the festivities start?"

"7pm sharp, so I will see you then," asked Liz

"7 it is," Isabel smiled

"Ok, bye Isabel"

Isabel never thought that she would have this much fun with Liz and Maria. Things have been a little strange since the whole Tess incident. The thought of Tess brought back painful memories that Isabel just wanted to forget at the moment. She still never understood why she did it. Because of Tess she lost Alex.

"Look what space boy brought me." Maria grinned proudly at the stuffed teddy bear Michael gave her.

"Oh its sooo cute." Liz commented. Isabel smiled knowing that she went with Michael to pick it out. He had been so silly in the store.

Isabel yawned, "Hey I think I am going to take a quick nap before we start the next movie, you don't mind do you."

"No, not at all, Maria and I can go make some popcorn. Come on Maria."

As soon as Isabel's eyes closed the dreams began. "Isabel don't be afraid, I love you"

"Alex, I am not afraid. I'm just…" Alex interrupted Isabel's plea with a kiss. Within seconds every ounce of her will power was gone. She wrapped her arms around him finally giving in to her desire. "Alex don't leave me again," she cried looking into his eyes.

"I won't leave you. I am coming home to you."

"What? I don't understand."

Alex pulled her closer as he started to unbutton her nightshirt. Isabel felt the heat of his hand on her shoulder as he slid the shirt off. He kissed her neck and whispered in her ear. "I'm coming home soon"

"But, but how…" Alex quieted Isabel's question.

"You will know soon enough" He gently kissed her lips and mouthed the words "Isabel, wake up."

"Isabel, wake up," Liz pushed her again, "Isabel."

Isabel woke up startle, "Al… Liz?! How long have I been sleeping?"

"I am not sure but I have been trying to wake you for about 10 minutes. It was him again, wasn't it?" Liz asked

"Who?" Maria asked

"Yeah Liz, I swear he was here." Isabel said to Liz completely ignoring Maria.

"Yoo hoo, Who are we talking about?" said Maria now very frustrated

"I must be going crazy" Isabel got up and started to pace the floor.

"HELLO!! Earth to everyone. WHO are we talking about?"

"Maria SHUT UP!!" Liz shouted, "Isabel look at your shoulder."

Isabel ran her hand over the hand print on her shoulder. "It can't be. This doesn't make any sense."

"Ok, now that's it. I am standing right here, I know I am not invisible, will someone PLEASE tell me what the HELL is going on!!"

Isabel proceeded to tell Maria about the dreams she had been having. "Maria this needed to stay between us. You can't tell Michael or Max."

"Yea, sure you have my word. What did Alex mean by he is coming home?"

"Maria, I don't know."

The girls sat at a booth in the Crashdown the next morning as Max and Michael walked in through the door.

"So, did you ladies have a good time?" Max asked as he slid into the booth next to Liz and kissed her cheek.

"Oh yeah," the girls answered at the same time.

"We had a blast," Isabel stood up and said "Hey you guys I am going to head home, I will talk to you later."

"Bye Isabel." Everyone said in unison.

"Well lets get started with another grueling day of work." Maria stood up from the booth, "Come on space boy it's off to the fry room with you." Maria pushed Michael towards the grill area.

"Well I guess I should get to work. Are you going to stay and hang out for awhile?" Max nodded, Liz smiled "I'll go and get you a drink."

As Isabel left the Crashdown she felt a hand on her shoulder. As she turned to see who it was she heard, "I'm home."

"Alex?!" Then all around Isabel went black.

"Oh my god, Max," Liz pointed towards the door, "Look Isabel" Max rushed out the door to Isabel's side. He picked her up off the ground and carried her back into the Crashdown. Liz motioned for him to follow her, "Here Max, lay her on the bench."

"Isabel, Isabel," Max began to worried.

"Here Max, try this." Liz handed him some smelling salt

"Isabel are you ok?"

She looked around, "Max, where am I, what happened?"

"You are at the Crashdown, you fainted outside." Max helped Isabel sit up.

Isabel frantically looked around for someone. "Where did he go Max? Where is he?"

Max looked to both side of him and said, "Isabel who are you talking about?"

"Alex, where did he go?" Everyone around looked stunned.

"Isabel, Alex is dead, remember." Max pulled his arm around her to try and console her

"No Max," Isabel moved his arm, "he was just here, outside. I saw him."

"Ok Iz, let me take you home"

"Ok."

Liz walked into Isabel's bedroom to see her lying in bed. "I came as soon as I could. How is your head?" Liz reached for Isabel head to see is everything was fine.

"Liz I am fine." Isabel pushed her away, "Did you see any one out side with me?"

"No, all I saw was you fainting."

"Liz I saw him." Isabel pulled the covers off of her and got up from the bed. "He was right there in front of me. He touched me. He said he was home. Liz I am not crazy. I know what I saw"

"I believe you, but we have to find an explanation. Isabel something is not right about all this."

"Okay, I will come by the Crashdown later. Liz, I need to be alone for awhile. How about we meet at 8:30pm, okay?"

Later that evening.

Isabel knew that she was being followed, she could sense it. When she turned to confront her assailant, she soon realizes there was no one there. As she turned herself back around she heard a familiar voice whispering "Isabel."

"Alex!" she gasped, "How is this possible… am I dreaming…are you really here?" Isabel reached for his face.

"Yes, I am right here, "Alex smiled and kissed her. "Can we go somewhere to talk? Some place private. I don't want to draw any attention."

"Sure, we can go to the abandon soap factory." As they started to walk off Isabel remembered, "Oh wait I need to call Liz. I was supposed to meet her. She'll get worried."

"Isabel, she can wait, I don't have much time." Alex rose his hand to touch her face; "You can call her when we get there." Isabel smiled and nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile at the Crashdown.

Liz walked to the front door of the Crashdown to let Max in. "Hi Max, is Isabel with you? She was supposed to meet me. By the way what are you doing here?"

They sat down at a table to together when Max said, "Isabel asked me to pick her up. She said she wanted to talk to me about something. Liz what's been going on with Isabel lately?"

"Max, there are something I need to tell you."

Across town Alex led Isabel into the abandon soap factory. "Alex, how did… I mean how is this possible that you are here?"

"It doesn't matter right now." Alex pulled her close and kissed her passionately. "All that matters I that I am here with you. Hey you should call Liz and tell her were we are."

"Oh, I almost forgot." Isabel grabbed her phone to call. "Hello Liz… I am okay… did Max make it there yet…. I am at the soap factory… Alex is here, Liz he is really here… Okay I will see you when you get here." She turned to Alex and said. "They are on their way."

At the Crashdown

"Max," Liz hung up the phone, "that was Isabel. She said that her and Alex are at the soap factory"

"Liz something isn't right, Isabel maybe in danger. Call Michael tell him to meet us there, now."

Soap factory.

"Alex I've missed you so much. There were so many things I never got to tell you. Alex, I…" She touched Alex's face.

"Isabel I know, I have always know," he grabbed her hand from his face, "I love you too," he pulled into his embrace and kissed Isabel.

FLASH- A galaxies of stars, a strange planet. Alex deepened the kiss FLASH- A beautiful woman, her secret love. FLASH- The royal four, their funeral, the start of a revolution. FLASH- her mother, her real mothers tears. FLASH- two people making love, her and…. FLASH- she betrayed them all for love. Isabel broke free of his kiss. She look deep into his eyes, " You're not Alex," she cried, "who are you?"

"You don't remember me? Let me help you remember," he grabbed her and kissed her again. FLASH- her and him making love, she betrayed her family for him. He whispered in her ear "Now do you remember, Valandra."

"Kivar?." He smiled as Isabel tried to pull away from him. "How did you know about Alex?"

"Tess told me, she said you were heartbroken when he died. She betrayed you because Max loves another. Soon you will betray Max, and history will repeat itself. "

"I would never betray Max, I am NOT Valandra." Isabel said confidently.

"Oh my dear, but you already have. Max is on his way to see you. He has no clue that he is heading into a trap. He will die by my hands." Isabel tried again to escape to the door but Kivar overpowers her. "You can have a front row seat for the festivities." He tied her to a chair, and turned on a familiar looking device. "I wouldn't want you to ruin the king's surprise." Isabel realized it's the same has the one Brody had in his office.

"Max will defeat you, you will die by HIS hands, and our people will rule again." Isabel said proudly.

Kivar went to Isabel, gently touching her face, " We will just have to wait and see won't we."

Outside the soap factory Liz and Max were looking threw a window. "Max, do you see her," Liz walked around Max to get a better look.

"I can see her, she is tied up, but I can't tell who is with her," Max turned his head from the window to Liz. " Liz are you sure she said she was with Alex? "

"That was what she told me on the phone. Look he has one of those devices that Brody had." Liz pointed inside the factory, "Max if you go in there you will not be able to use your powers."

Michael and Maria walked over to where Liz and Max where hiding in the bush. "Hey, we came as soon as we could, where's Isabel?" said Michael

"She is inside Michael, but we don't know with who or how many are in there." Max pointed in the window. "See she is over there and the person she thinks is Alex is right in front of her."

"Let's just go in and get her." Michael started to stand up.

"We can't, Michael," Max pointed to the device, "He has one of those things that Brody had."

"So how do we get her out of there, Max."

"Maria and I can sneak in, turn it off and get Isabel." Before Michael and Max protest Liz said, "Max we don't have a choice, Maria and I are not affect by that thing, but you and Michael are. What good would it do for Isabel if you were helpless? Just make a distraction, Maria and I can sneak in through the window near where Isabel is." Liz touched his face. "Max we'll will be okay. Trust me."

"Liz be careful, I don't know what I would do with out you."

"I will." She kissed him quickly, then started to walk away

"Maria watch yourself," Michael kissed her cheek.

Maria smiled, "I will."

Maria and Liz ran to the window near Isabel when they hear a loud boom. "Maria that's the signal, look he is walking towards the door. Hurry up. " They climbed through the window.

"Oh my god, Maria… Liz… it wasn't Alex, " Isabel started to cry, "It's Kivar, he wants to kill Max."

Liz grabbed the alien device and moved her hand over it. "Isabel are your powers back?"

"Yeah I can feel them, where is Max and Michael?"

"Outside, lets go." The girls ran outside to see Kivar standing in the parking lot.

"Zan, or should I say Max show yourself."

"I am right here," Max stepped out from behind the building. "And since you know my name, may I have the pleasure of knowing yours."

"I am Kivar, and I shall have the pleasure of sending you to your grave for the second time." Max looked confused. "It was I that your sister betrayed you for in your other life."

"Max, we got her," yelled Liz.

"Michael, now" Max and Michael used their powers to fight against Kivar. There was a bright flash of light and an explosion. Kivar was gone. Max rushed over to the girls, "let's get out of here."

Max walked into Isabel's bedroom and sat down on the bed next to her. "Isabel are you alright?"

"I am fine Max," Isabel sat up "I am so sorry, I didn't know who he was. I thought he was Alex, I wanted him to be Alex. Oh Max…" she started to cry.

"Isabel it will be okay, everything will be ok," Max hugged her, "you didn't know. Isabel I know you are NOT Valandra and you wont betray me."

"Max how do you know that?" asked Isabel with tears in her eyes.

"Because you are my sister, Isabel Evan." Max wiped her tears away

"Max, he is never coming back is he?"

Knowing who she was talking about Max answered, "No Isabel, he's not. Try and get some sleep."

Two days later Isabel went to Alex's grave site. "You're gone you are really gone," Isabel started to cry, "I never got the chance to tell you I loved you." She whispered as she turned and walked away, "Alex, I love you."
